It is no longer uncommon to see unmarried people who are in love live together without being legally married. In such relationships, the doors are always open. A partner can decide to leave or walk away from the partnership without a hassle since nothing legal binds them.
Those in support of this idea feel it would help to reduce the rate of divorce and separation among couples. They also feel that it helps individuals to make a better-informed decision about choosing their life partners.
On the other hand though, one may ask; What happened to going on dates and courtship?
What happened to go places together, hanging out together and doing things in common?
Aren’t these enough opportunity to get to know who or what kind of person you’re contemplating marriage with?
So, what say you?
Would you rather date the conventional way or rather live together till you decide to get married?
Exams! How the thought of it sends hearts racing.
At the beginning of the year, Singapore abolished writing of exams for children in primary years 1 and 2, while older students would enjoy learning in a less competitive environment.
For many, examinations are times of distress, headaches, and stress coupled with anxiety. For some, exams are just like everyday occurrences, no big deal.
The results of exams can be very surprising.
People who perform well in class activities throughout the term or semester may end up with poor grades.
Some others who may not have performed so well during the semester or term may come out in flying colors?
What could be responsible for such results?
For one thing, not everyone performs well under stress and some other people only cram books into their heads for the purpose of examinations and soon after forget all that was memorized.
The minister of education in Singapore stated that the reason for the decision mentioned at the outset is that “learning is not a competition”.
With this supposition, can we then conclude that examinations are a true test of knowledge?
If they are not, how then can students be best evaluated?

Voices in my head.
What does that even mean?
There he is once again.
Look! he just walked in through the front door
Tell me you see him now.
I said I am well, look!
He’s there holding a dagger and bloodstained daisies.
Look! He is there. Caramel-skinned boy with black shorts,
Tears dripping from his cheeks onto his bare chest.
He is walking towards us. Stay back! he’s trying to talk to me.
Leave me alone he wants to reach for my hands. Leave me alone.
I want to take hold of his hands. He is the twin brother I never knew I had.
He is bleeding from one side of his head.
Help! it seems he has a bloody gash on the back of his head.
Where did he go? Don’t go away. I want to get up and help you.
Mum will go bring bandages. Mom, where are you?
Where is everybody? Mum, I am scared. Help me please, help him.
Where are you, brother? Where are you? There you are! Why do you look so sad? Where are your flowers?
What did you do with your dagger? Where is the blood on it from? Did you kill mom?
I can’t breathe. Stop! You are choking me. Doctor! Doctor! But you were just here doctor.
It is dark in here. I thought it was afternoon a minute ago.
Why is the room suddenly so bright again? You are blinding me, put it out.
Brother, They said I am in a hospital. They said I killed mom and doctor.
I told them I know who but they said I am insane. This is our little secret brother. Our secret.
They said I tried killing myself but I told them that we had our usual playtime where we stop our breathe and swallow syringe needles.
They sent me to a special room with lights. They said I have no brother. They said I am the only child.
They said I killed mom and doctor yesterday, and dad 2 years ago. Liars!
I know who did but I won’t tell.
They said I have schizophrenia. Thank God you are here!
Tell them who you are. Tell them you are real.
I want this suffering to stop. I hate lights, but I am afraid of the dark.
I want to go home. Tell them.
Women! One of life’s many complexities.
Understanding a woman has never been an easy task especially if there is an emotional attachment involved.
Some women are what we refer to as “damsels in distress” while others are independent and free-spirited.
A damsel in distress would rather sit still and be broke while looking beautiful than getting stressed up making money.
An independent woman, on the other hand, doesn’t mind getting her hands dirty just to make sure that she takes care of her needs without a man’s support.
Some men would feel more comfortable with a damsel in distress or needy females because they feel wanted and needed in such a company and makes them feel in charge.
Other men would choose an independent woman that can care for herself without seeking assistance.
Different strokes for different folks.
But what would you prefer? A needy and clingy companion or not?
Females, which of these personalities do you fit into?

Ladies and gentlemen, there are crimes and there are crimes! There are crimes I have watched on my favorite crime and investigation channel which shook me till date. Still, there are worst crimes out there which has not been solved and which no one is strong enough to talk about.
In many parts of the world, capital punishment (death penalty) has been abolished. Still, many countries grant the death penalty to perpetrators of some gross inhumane offenses. Like me, Many people are against the death penalty. Why?
Many reason that since two wrongs don’t make a right, killing people who kill people isn’t teaching any lesson. It only shows that it is okay to reciprocate with something worse or similar when wronged. They claim that gross wrongdoers no matter how hardhearted should be forgiven although with the punishment of a sentence which could help the individual change his or her life course. “Does not everyone deserve a second chance?” they reason. But come to think of it. If someone can go as far as killing another person due to anger, jealousy or pleasure, does that not show that all is not well in the head? I feel such individuals deserve to see a therapist and not a lethal injection. So to cut the story short, I feel that no human has the right to decide who lives or who dies.
The other side of the coin has boldly written on it, “an eye for an eye”. Many people reason that if someone cold-heartedly decided to take the life of another person for no reason, then that person deserves the same treatment. Keeping someone locked up in prison and feeding him or her daily for the rest of their life doesn’t teach them a lesson or serve as a deterrence to future criminals. Instead, it could motivate many people to consider taking this route to a good life too. Taking care of prisons which holds such prisoners are expensive and the money could be channeled to more productive things if they receive capital punishment.
But has the death penalty stopped the crimes in countries where it is still carried out? The answer is no.
